Modular & 3D-Printed Buildings

Sustainable housing is one of earth's biggest challenges. We are working on unique models that will make housing as affordable as possible for people of all income levels.

To make housing affordable for all, we are working on Modular and 3D-Printed buildings.

What are 3D Printers? A 3D printer is a machine that allows the creation of a physical object from a three-dimensional digital model, typically by laying down many thin layers of a material in succession.

3D-printed buildings, also known as additive construction, are structures built using 3D printing technology as the primary construction method. The process involves creating a digital model of the building, slicing it into layers, and then using a printing robot to gradually deposit each layer of material. This method can be faster and more cost-efficient than traditional construction techniques, and can be done on-site or off-site with minimal human oversight.

Modular buildings however, are buildings made up of components manufactured on assembly lines in factories then assembled on site in a variety of arrangements.

Buildings can be constructed using modular 'parts' such as walls, frames, doors, ceilings, and windows, or a number of 'complete' prefabricated modular building units (shipping containers).

Business Model:

These buildings after construction, would be put up for sale with a flexible financing method attached. The RentmaseDAO treasury will fund the development and interest generated from the sale & loan will go back into the treasury thereafter. To have a sustainable model, we would be starting with 5-10 3D-Printed buildings in the first year. In the coming years, we would be increasing this to 1,000 new buildings yearly.

These buildings will be starting at very cheap prices to make it super affordable for all. 3D-Printed buildings are currently estimated to be 45-60% cheaper than traditional buildings. With advances in technology, these 3D buildings are expected to become even cheaper.

Another cheap alternative is modular buildings

Revenue Model:

Prospective buyers will be able to purchase these buildings with flexible payment plans. A one-time service fee will be charged on each property.

The service fee and interest fee charged on the property loans will be returned to the treasury to fund the development of new properties for more people.

How will it work?

  • A certain amount is allocated from the treasury to cover up expenses tha would be required to setup a modular/ 3D Building via an SNS Proposal.

  • If vote passes, the required preparations are made.

  • Once this building is ready, it is made available for rent or an outright purchase.

  • For rent/ lease, the amount paid is sent back (monthly/ annually) into the treasury to fund the development of more properties.

  • For an outright purchase, a payment plan is setup (upto a max of 10 years). The payment amount and interest generated from this is sent back to the treasury to fund the development of more properties.
